REMOTE LINKING PHOTOS TO MULTIPLE GRAVES
The first step is to upload a photo like normal for a grave. Then when I clicked on "Add this photo and caption" to do the final submission to add the photo, I quickly copied the URL that comes up in the address bar by quickly highlighting it and pressing Ctrl-C. Then I pasted it to Notepad. That URL is the following:
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=pid&widther=720&heighter=1075&GRid=&PIgrid=14400131&PImrid=&PIcemid=&FLgrid=&PIfn=%2Fphotos%2F2006%2F143%2F14400131_114851300975.jpg&PImt=&PIle=234&PItype=Grave&didAutoScale=0&rapId=&PInote=&PIdisplayName=Y
Note that if you are using broadband, it would probably be very tricky to be quick enough to copy the URL to your clipboard.
If you study this you learn that it is telling the computer which photo to add to which memorial, along with if you want to add your name to the photo or not, and any note you want to put as a caption to the photo.
Now all I have to add my photo to another memorial page is change the grave ID number. In this case, the grave ID number is 14400131. After you submit a new name to Find A Grave, view your entry and then copy the number you find after "GRid=" in the URL and on Notepad where you have pasted the other URL, you want to replace that old ID to the new ID. In this case, I want to post the same picture to grave ID # 14400212. All I have to do now is take that old URL I have on my clipboard:
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=pid&widther=720&heighter=1075&GRid=&PIgrid=14400131&PImrid=&PIcemid=&FLgrid=&PIfn=%2Fphotos%2F2006%2F143%2F14400131_114851300975.jpg&PImt=&PIle=234&PItype=Grave&didAutoScale=0&rapId=&PInote=&PIdisplayName=Y
and change the grave ID number to 14400212 like this:
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=pid&widther=720&heighter=1075&GRid=&PIgrid=14400212&PImrid=&PIcemid=&FLgrid=&PIfn=%2Fphotos%2F2006%2F143%2F14400131_114851300975.jpg&PImt=&PIle=234&PItype=Grave&didAutoScale=0&rapId=&PInote=&PIdisplayName=Y
and then paste the whole URL to my browser window in the Address bar and then hit Enter, and the picture is sumbitted to the new memorial.
I know this sounds really confusing but if you're on dial-up and once you get the hang of it, it isn't that bad.
One other thing I think I should say is, I have noticed if you erase the initial photo from the first memorial you've added it to, it still shows up for the others you've "remote linked" to.
